Ze względu na swoją wagę Minnie omal nie została uśpiona. Taką dramatyczną decyzję podjęli jej poprzedni właściciele tuż przed emigracją. Dzięki zbiegowi okoliczności trafiła do Gary Bristow, która z pełną determinacja przystąpiła do programu odchudzania psa. Historia MinnieWażącego niemal 60 kg psa do samochodu nowej właścicielki musiały "pakować" trzy osoby. Ze względu na swoje rozmiary Minni udało się podczas podróży zaklinować między fotelami. Pies trafił najpierw do brytyjskiego Centrum Pomocy Labradorom (Labrador Rescue), Z centrum dzięki ogłoszeniu na stronie organizacji sympatyczna suczka pojechała do Gary Bristow - nowej właścicielki.
